What is a “trunk show”?

Also known as a “jewelry party”, I will display my work for sale, and you and your friends can shop in the privacy of your home or office.  A trunk show is more of a "meet the artist" event than a sales event... it's a relaxed, no-pressure environment.

Unlike traditional jewelry parties, where you are offered jewelry from a catalog that is manufactured and mass-produced, at a trunk show, everything is handmade.  You can actually meet the artist that created your one-of-a-kind piece, and take it home with you that day.  You can even order a piece custom made just for you (or a loved one), using your birthstone or favorite colors, and reflecting your unique style.  It's the personal service that sets bliss apart.

The “hostess” receives a free gift for hosting the trunk show... either choose a piece from my stock... or request a custom-designed piece, the choice is yours!

Me at a recent trunk show with Deb, the gracious hostess

The low-down on being a hostess:

  1. Confirm a convenient date:  I can do home parties after work Tuesdays through Thursdays, during the day on Mondays and Fridays, or on the weekends.
  2. Invite guests via email or Facebook:  invite friends, co-workers, neighbors, or family who like jewelry (who doesn't??) or have girly-girls on their shopping list.
  3. Provide light refreshments:  it can be as informal as coffee and dessert or as chic as wine and cheese (I'm more than happy to help with snacks!).
  4. Choose your gift!!  The hostess receives a free piece of custom-designed jewelry (up to $50 value) as a thank you.  As an added bonus, if one of your guests books their own trunk show, you get 10% off anything you buy at your show!
  5. Eat, drink, and be merry while perusing my latest blissful creations!
That's all there is to it!!    It's a fun way to get together with friends… the perfect “girl’s night out”!!

About My Jewelry:

• Everything is handmade, using Sterling silver (or Thai or Bali silver), so 99% of my pieces are hypoallergenic; some pieces incorporate vintage elements, and I cannot attest to the "hypoallergenicity" of vintage findings.
• The materials used are semi-precious stones, Swarovski crystals, painted porcelain or lampwork glass beads, and vintage findings - nothing plastic ever!
• Genuine birthstone beads are available for almost every month (crystals in comparable colors are used for the precious stones, like sapphires, rubies, emeralds, or diamonds).
• Most designs are one-of-a-kind... multiples of items are made upon request (e.g., bridesmaids), however, I enjoy creating unique pieces (especially for brides!).
• Since each piece is unique, you don't have to worry that the 10 other women from the party will be wearing the same piece as you.
• Various styles and price ranges:  Please note that bliss has pieces to fit any budget!! My creations cover a realm of different styles --  bliss jewels can be classic enough for the office, fancy enough for a wedding, or funky enough to wear to a rock concert!!
• I even have a line of unisex jewelry for men (or women who prefer less sparkle and more edge).  See the "Uni-bliss" section for the latest creations.
• I'm happy to create custom-designed pieces for that “hard-to-buy-for” person on your list using their birthstone or favorite color.

So, for the same price as that trendy costume jewelry sold at department stores (made of plastic and stainless steel), you can have a handcrafted piece with natural gemstones instead… handmade from the heart.
